Jay was born and raised in Massachusetts, where he spent his formative years surrounded by family as one of eight children. After completing high school, he briefly attended Northeastern University but soon realized that traditional college education was not the right path for him. This realization led him to embark on an entrepreneurial journey, ultimately starting his own construction business, which successfully thrived for an impressive 25 years. In 2005, Jay met his wife, and they celebrated their marriage in 2008. Eager to find the perfect place to establish their roots, they explored various towns along the east coast before discovering that Georgetown was the only town that truly resonated with both of them.

Jay and his wife, Suzanne, moved to Georgetown 16 years ago and immediately fell in love with all that is Georgetown. He has been engaged with the community from the onset and now share the concerns that many citizens have regarding the direction of our city. Georgetown is a community with rich history and potential, yet faces several challenges that need immediate attention, particularly, in crucial areas such as job creation, affordable housing, development, and overall growth. Many of these challenges are daunting but his motto has always been “If there is a will, there is a way.”
Jay found meaningful employment as the Director of Facilities at Brookgreen Gardens, where he managed various projects and operations. Following that, he transitioned into selling lighting products, developing innovative lighting solutions that catered to diverse needs, and he also worked extensively in the field of telecommunication engineering. After a fulfilling and successful career, Jay is now happily retired, yet he continues to embrace his passion for creativity. His last significant project involved the construction of a charming tiny house for his daughter, which is now proudly located in Gardiner, ME.
Jay built the tiny house in Georgetown and then it was towed up to Maine.
